Choosing to Care fundraising banquet will be held in the Tabernacle at Prince Avenue Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 29 at 6:30pm. Keynote Speaker: Peter Mutabazi The oldest of five children, Peter grew up in Kabale, Uganda, a small village on the border of Rwanda. At the time, many children in his village died of malnutrition or malaria by the time they were 2. Peter recalls a time when he was only able to eat every other day. At age 10, Peter escaped from his abusive father and traveled alone to Kampala. He lived on the streets for four years before an opportunity changed his life. Today, Peter is a single foster parent. He shares his journey on social media in hopes of inspiring others to foster or support those who do.
